ABOUT US
THE MAYPOLE INN - FINE THURLOXTON COUNTRY PUB
Originally named the Star Inn, the Maypole Inn dates back to 1880, when it was under the ownership of William Day. The Star Inn was originally a Cider House and remained so until the mid 1970's when The Green Dragon, the Public house in Thurloxton, closed. The Star therefore took on the role of being the village pub although, strictly speaking, it is located in the village of Adsborough and not Thurloxton. Filled with history, the pub remained The Star until the mid 1990's, when the name was changed to The Maypole Inn.
Jo and James Lowe, with there then 2 girls Emily and Kati, came to the Maypole in December 2006 with the intention of returning this traditional pub back to the local people and putting the Maypole Inn back on the food map.
Now nearly 4 years down the line, and parents of another little girl, Phebe, the pub has changed in many ways. The Maypole Inn has established itself as a warm, friendly and accommodating family pub, serving traditional English meals and, wherever possible, use locally produced Somerset meat and seasonal vegetables.
Today, the Maypole Inn serves good quality food and cares a great deal about customer service and satisfaction. Please contact us to make a reservation. We look forward to your visit...
